We're an enquiry service, not a flooring contractor. With your consent, we pass your enquiry to an independent local floor sander once one is appointed. How it works

Areas we take enquiries from

We take floor sanding and polishing enquiries from across the City of Greater Geelong, the Bellarine Peninsula, the Surf Coast and nearby Golden Plains towns. Coverage depends on the independent contractor your enquiry is passed to, so include your suburb and we'll let you know if we can't help.

Central Geelong and inner suburbs

Geelong, Geelong West, Newtown, Drumcondra, Herne Hill, Manifold Heights, East Geelong, South Geelong and Hamlyn Heights.

Many homes here date from the late 1800s to the 1930s, with Baltic pine or other softwood boards. They often have wide gaps, old nail holes and patched areas where walls or fireplaces were removed. See floorboard repairs and staining and lime wash if you're working with pine.

Southern suburbs

Belmont, Highton, Grovedale, Waurn Ponds, Marshall, Wandana Heights and Mount Duneed.

Older homes in Belmont and Highton often have Victorian ash or Tasmanian oak under carpet. Newer homes towards Waurn Ponds and Mount Duneed are more likely to have engineered boards.

Armstrong Creek and growth areas

Armstrong Creek, Charlemont, Connewarre and Mount Duneed.

Most homes here are recent builds. If you have engineered timber, the wear layer decides whether it can be sanded. Hybrid and laminate floors can't be sanded. Our floor sanding page explains how to check.

Northern suburbs

Lara, Corio, Norlane, Bell Park, Bell Post Hill, Lovely Banks and North Geelong.

There's a mix of post-war hardwood floors under carpet and newer homes, especially in Lara.

Bellarine Peninsula

Leopold, Drysdale, Clifton Springs, Curlewis, Portarlington, St Leonards, Indented Head, Queenscliff, Point Lonsdale, Ocean Grove and Barwon Heads.

Beach sand and salty air wear finishes faster near the coast. A screen and recoat every few years can protect a floor before the timber wears through.

Surf Coast

Torquay, Jan Juc and Bellbrae.

Holiday homes and rentals often need a quick refresh between seasons or tenants, which is when a recoat can make sense. Coastal decks here also take a beating from sun, sand and salt air, so it's worth asking about deck sanding and oiling at the same time.

Golden Plains

Bannockburn, Batesford and nearby towns.
